Ok, this is a true story, I can't make this stuff up! And of course...only in Arizona! Let me set the scene. There is an older lady who used to work for us and a year ago she had been laid off, and still hasn't found a new job. She is just the nicest lady and VERY religous (Catholic) and her husband is Hispanic and quite a bit younger than her. Every once in awhile she will stop by the office to say "hi" to us. Well she stopped by today and she wanted to share her happy news...
Lindsey: Hi Diane, I just wanted to come by and tell you my happy news!
Me: (thinking she was about to tell me she got a job) What??
Lindsey: MY HUSBAND IS COMING BACK!
Me: Oh, that's great! I didn't know he was gone.
Lindsey: Yes, he's been in Mexico since August and he wanted me to move down there but instead he decided to come home.
Me: Well, that's great to hear!
Lindsey: And my Dad died on September 1st.
Me: Oh Lindsey, I am so sorry to hear that! Are you doing okay?
Lindsey: Yes, I'm fine. I cried for 5 days and then decided my Dad wouldn't want me to do that!
Me: Yes, that is probably true.
Lindsey: Also, I was laid off a year ago and I know I couldn't come back for a year and now my year is up can you hire me back?
Me: I'm sorry Lindsey, but we have a freeze on hiring at this time but we will definitely keep you in mind!
Lindsey: Thanks! I'm working now at XYZ (can't remember the name) but that is not where my heart is. My heart is here! And now that my husband is returning...
Me: I still didn't realize he had left.
Lindsey: Oh yes, he was deported.
Me: OH, I had no idea...well...then...how...is he getting back???
Lindsey: Oh, he's crossing the desert. (said very matter of fact)
Me: Wow!
Lindsey: Oh, he's in good shape! Besides, its not that hot out there now!
Me: Well, good luck with that!
The End.

Who Ya Gonna Call?
So, a couple of weeks ago on my way to work I noticed this weird looking white vehicle with a plume of white smoke coming out of the back of it. It looked like an old hearse but it had a bunch of junk on the roof, including a big white looking satellite dish. I also noticed on the back there was some sort of insignia. Of course I had to get a better look! At first I thought it was one of those storm chasing vehicles, since this was just couple of days after they had those tornadoes up in Flagstaff. As I started getting closer the vehicle then started exiting but not before I saw the Ghostbusters insignia on the back and not before I was able to snap this quick pictures with my camera! Not too bad of a picture going 65mph on the freeway! Boy, do you really see a bunch of weird stuff sometimes!

When I got to work I looked them up on the internet and sure enough. Here is what I found:

Sister's Weekend
So, a couple of weekends ago we had a Sister's weekend and we had the BEST time! I really can't even tell you how much fun we had! I flew into SLC on Friday night, Sherrie flew from Juneau into SLC and then Paula drove up and picked us up at the airport. Side note: That was the worst flight I've been on in a long time! (I'll save that for another post). After Paula picked us up we went and checked into our hotel and then went to dinner. The next day we spent pretty much ALL day shopping and Saturday night we went to a Comedy Improv show and we (Paula and I anyway) had so much fun! I've tried several times to load the video with no success. So, I'll just give you a little recap. There is a spot towards the end of the show where they ask for a volunteer from the audience, well Paula didn't want any part of that after what happened at the Playmill last year so she was looking all around but at the guy. Sherrie wasn't really paying attention and when the guy was looking for a volunteer and I "may" have pointed to Sherrie as the guy looked at me and guess who he picked? That's right Sherrie! And the best part is...she thought it was Paula who volunteered her! So, she got up on stage and she was supposed to make the sound effects to correlate with what the actor said he was doing. When she was up there Paula leaned over and said I needed to take pictures but I did one better and instead recorded it! So, after the show all the cast runs out to door so when you leave they can tell you bye and thanks for coming. Well, Paula and I were outside waiting and when she came out she said she had to tell her "castmates" bye! I told Sherrie she wasn't very good at sound effects and she said she was worried to do any because she was afraid her dentures would come flying out! Can you even picture that??? I told her that would be the BEST EVER!!! Unfortunately, that didn't happen. What a night, we laughed and laughed and laughed about that show the rest of the night!
Then Sunday Paula and Sherrie took me to the airport and they headed to Idaho. I flew to Phoenix and picked up Corbin at the airport and got to spend sometime with him! I always like it when he comes to visit!
Here are just a couple of pictures I took to document our trip:
Here the sisters are looking at pictures of high school classmates as they are now and they were commenting on how old they (the classmates, not themselves) look.
The trunk...
...and the backseat after shopping!
Thanks again to my sister's for such a fun weekend! You guys really are the BEST! Love you both!
