Rock Climbing

Ok, so Brandon told me my blog must be boring since no one ever commented on it so I thought I would put a little post for the rock climbers in the family!

TOP SIGNS YOU'VE BEEN CLIMBING TOO LONG:

-You go to church and scout out routes to the ceiling
-You climb your friends fireplace
-You know how to get on your roof without a ladder
-You begin buying your shoes 2 sized too small out of habit
-You get mad at having to spend $40 on a pair of Levi's, but don't mind spending $200+ for a pair of Gore-tex
-You have no idea why your hands are bleeding
-You aerate your lawn with your crampons
-Your climbing equipment is worth more than your car
-You give up a decent job so you can climb more
-Your body is worn out and you need medical attention, but that would take from your climbing time, so you continue to hobble
-When you can't climb, you stop so low as to read recreational climbing
-You insist on eating out in older areas, since the buildings are more "climbable"
-Your list of names for future ascents are longer than your list of friends
-You remember when the decimal system ended in 5.9
-Your ice axe is made of wood
-When walking down a cracked sidewalk, you're thinking, "That'll be a good hand hold"
-When it hurts to hold onto the steering wheel driving home from climbing
-You placed anchors on the side of your 5th story apartment building so you could sleep on your porta-ledge on the weekdays
-You bolted the side of your house and it ended up in a local guide book as a 5.9+

Now do you want to read my blog? You know you Snedaker boys are laughing!

Happy Birthday Taco!

Happy Birthday to my sister! She will probably never see this, since she is a little web-challenged, but I wanted to wish her a Happy Birthday anyway! Why do I love my sister?
Here are a few reasons:

1. She is older than me.
2. She is the kindest person I know.
3. She is the most patient person I know.
4. She loves her family more than anything.
5. She told me I get my own bedroom in the new house (right?).
6. She is my friend.

And here are a few reasons she sometimes drives me crazy:

1. She talks to strangers (I don't travel to make friends, I usually pretend I'm sleeping).
2. She keeps talking about needing a bigger house or adding on to the one she has. (I'm glad that won't be an issue much longer)! Can I get a Hallelujah?
3. Ty is spoiled.
(Not really, I just thought other kids would agree!)
4. She encourages bad behavior in her grandchildren. (ex. "Alyssa, I think Diane would look really pretty with flowers in her hair! Leaves? Even better!") (
Not cute grandma, not cute!)

Please feel free to leave comments about the Birthday girl in either category!
That is if you remembered it was her birthday and called to tell her!

The Party’s Over

Well our girl's party is officially over, the girls are on their way home and thanks to Grandma for taking them. I asked Alyssa to please talk to Grandma on the ride home to keep her awake and Alyssa said she would because she talks a lot (as if we didn't already know).
We did a lot of fun things while they were here, we went to the movie, shopping, visiting my work, visiting the Mesa Temple, going to The Lion King, going to the zoo, eating yummy food, swimming in my bathtub, watching movies at night and playing games! Even with all of Alyssa's questions (she asks them to make her smarter) and Kennedy having to be threatened to eat any food, it still was a fun time! Thanks to Banana, French Fry & Taco (see post below for explanation) for a FUN girl's party!

Feeding time at the zoo

Today we had a fun day and went to the Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium. The girls had a lot of fun. They had places to touch starfish, horseshoe crabs and stingrays. Then they had a place to feed the giraffes and last but not least the petting zoo. The funniest part of the petting zoo was when Kennedy kept running around trying to pick up any goat that would let her. She finally had one goat in a chokehold and he started getting a little irrated with her so I told her to move away from him. Right after that Alyssa walked up to the same goat and started to pet it and right then the goat had had enough and just head butted Alyssa right in the side. She was a little surprised and acted like it really hurt but the only thing I think it hurt was her pride. Here a few photos of our fun day!

Here is Kennedy getting the goat all riled up just in time to take care of her sister!

Girl's Party Continued

Last night for our girl's party we went to the the temple and then for the highlight we went to the Broadway production of The Lion King. And to quote Alyssa "I didn't want it to end! It was AWESOME!" And to quote Kennedy "I loved The Lion King!". Here are some more pictures.

Kennedy and Alyssa at the Mesa Temple.

At the visitor's center.

At the visitors center they had nativity sets from around the world. This is one from Ecuador (just for Corbin!).

Outside at The Lion King!

On our way to The Lion King, Alyssa had a great idea to come up with nicknames for all of us! Now don't try to be too jealous..."Taco" is Grandma's nick-name and "Pie" is mine! And just to let you know we did vote on these.

Here we have Kennedy, aka "French-Fry" aka "Pringles" aka "Donut"

Here we have the ring-leader Alyssa, aka "Sugar & Fruit" and aka "Banana"

Girl's Party

Grandma, Alyssa and Kennedy came back with me to Phoenix for a girl's party! Here are a few of the fun things we have done.

Boy's Party

While I was in Rexburg I had a FUN boy's party with Joseph and Logan! First we had a sleepover at Grandma's on Sunday night and stayed up and read stories. I also learned that that their mother let's them go to bed with apples. Then on Monday we went bowling and met up with everyone for lunch at McDonald's. A special shout out to Uncle Ty for going bowling with us!
