Carlsbad, California

Well, I consider myself a bit of a traveler and it just so happens that one of the places I have been is Carlsbad, Ca! A few years ago Mica and I would take these little day trips and fly to San Diego for the day and do a little shopping and then fly home. Well, guess where we shopped...that's right the outlet mall in Carlsbad!! Here are a few pictures of what I remember about Carlsbad.

Ty, I am so proud of you and your decision to go on a mission. Please just don't take a lot of pictures :) I think Carlsbad will be a great place for you to serve and those Californian's will be lucky to have you! I have no doubt you will be an amazing missionary and make your family proud! Now, I'll have two things I love in Carlsbad...the outlet mall and YOU (not necessarily in that order)!

Diane: Well, that would matter on who exactly is Steve Barnes? (Turns out he is my cousin!) kind of weird.

Diane to Owen: That's your dad? (pointing to Blake)
Owen: No, my dad's downstairs!
Owen: And... he's a woman

Owen to Diane: Do you have any cash on you?

Owen to McKelle: Hey little one do you want to see a grasshopper?
Me to Owen: Did you just call her little one?
Owen: Yes, that's because I can't remember her name.

I had called Owen to wish him a Happy Birthday and after awhile talking he finally said: "Could we get over with this?"
Apparently he was getting a little tired talking to me after he had already talked to Grandma Snedaker and Ty! I'll remember that on my birthday...

Me talking to Alyssa after she rock climbed:
-Me: You did AWESOME!
-Alyssa: I guess I just have talent!

Kennedy talking to Logan at his soccer game while they were on a break. Kennedy walked over to Logan and put her arm around and said "Just keep trying, don't give up" as she was patting him on the back. It was the sweetest thing ever!

When I was in Seattle for Owen's Baptism I showed Owen and Sadie how to text on my phone. Well I told him he could text Corbin, Grandpa and Ty. Well he started texting everyone and if he sent a text and that person didn't text him back he would send another one that said "Please Respond". He ending up texting a guy that I work with so at that point I had to tell him he can only text people with the same last name as him.

Owen to Diane: Can I use your phone to communicate with others again?

Owen talking to Brigett: "Well I think you know I didn't drown or I wouldn't be talking to you right now!"

Grandma called me with a funny story. She was telling me how lately Maxten always says things are his favorite and when she was watching him today he was saying that Ty was his favorite, so at dinner they had the following discussion:
Grandma: So, Maxten do you really know what "favorite" means?
Maxten: Yes, it's Spanish!

Maxten: We got a new tree. But it doesn't grow money.
Me: Oh, it doesn't? That's too bad.
Maxten: But Grandma Snedaker's tree grows money REAL good!

Me: Maxten, what's your name?
Maxten: Maxten Corbin Grandma Snedaker

Kari's Fun Fact:
"If you see a shark and it's not swimming then it's probably dead."

Diane: "I want to play a game with you, you know like a card game".
Cavin: "I only like games with screens". (May 2012)

Maxten was asking me about knuckles, while looking at cardboard Ty and we were talking about broken bones...
Diane: If you break a bone like your arm, the doctor will put a cast or something on your arm to hold it still. Then the bone starts to grow back together to fix it.
Maxten: Pauses for a minute and then looks straight at me and says "I don't believe you!" (April 2012)

Later that afternoon during quiet (or not so quiet time)...
Maxten: How do you know so much about bones?
Diane: I'm going to school to learn about all kinds of things.
Maxten: Like bones and skateboards?? (April 2012)

Lily: Water doesn't taste good with kiwi.
Sherrie: I thought water went with everything.
Lily: No, that's ranch!
